Brian C. Becker, Ph.D.

The founder of Precision Economics, Dr. Brian C. Becker has served as an economic expert witness and consultant since completing a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania more than 25 years ago. With the majority of his work as a transfer pricing expert witness, Dr. Becker has been engaged by international law firms and also directly by multinational companies. Government tax enforcement agencies in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand have similarly engaged Dr. Becker in transfer pricing and related disputes. Some of the large matters where Dr. Becker has provided an opinion for court include Abbott Labs, Boston Scientific, Chevron, Coca-Cola, General Electric, GlaxoSmithKline, McKesson, Nortel, Ricoh, Roche, and Teva Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Becker’s opinions have also concerned commercial damages, valuations, and international trade, with a focus in software, medical devices, financial services, pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, mining and energy, and consumer products. He has provided testimony in a number of legal venues including U.S. Tax Court, The Australian Administrative Appeals Tribunal, The Federal Court of Australia, The Tax Court of Canada, The Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (India), The Canadian International Trade Tribunal, and The U.S. International Trade Commission. Dr. Becker has also published approximately 25 articles, and taught Corporate Finance, Statistics, Derivative Securities, Operations Management, and Computer Applications at Johns Hopkins, George Washington and Marymount universities.
