PUBLIC POLICY

White Papers : Popular Press : Congressional Testimony : Economic Policy

Precision Economics has authored various financial and economic reports for public policy. These analyses have been performed on behalf of government agencies, trade groups (e.g. PhRMA), and individual corporate clients. Our White papers have evaluated the economic impact of existing and proposed state, federal, and international legislation. In addition, we have opined on the economic impact of potential judicial rulings.

Our financial experts and academic affiliates research and explain economics concepts on a daily basis, and seek to competently explain potentially complicated findings in various public venues. Our articles have been used by our clients to sway public opinion in the popular press, to influence Congress at hearings, and to shape new economic policy. Our economists and affiliates have summarized our analysis in testimony, academic seminars, press conferences and government hearings. Our economic articles and other research have also been covered in the popular press by Fortune, CNN, Bloomberg Television, and others. These projects include:

  • A 2011 analysis of the impact of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) on United States exports;
  • A 2011 analysis in which Precision Economics reported its findings on tax research. More specifically, this project covered items such as R&D tax credits, operating loss carry forwards, and subpart F income;
  • Repeated reports analyzing the comparative profitability of the pharmaceutical industry in the United States and that industry's contribution to U.S. exports;
  • An analysis of the seven trading specialist firms serving the New York Stock Exchange; and
  • A study on the economic rationale behind the Webb-Pomerene Act.
