DAMAGES

Commercial Litigation : Antitrust

Precision economists have calculated damages for trial, settlement proceedings, and mediation. On behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants, we have developed quantitative economic models in gathering, analyzing, and assessing damages. These damages calculations have been performed in the context of patent infringement, professional negligence, antitrust, and breach of contract.

In addition to traditional damage calculations, Precision Economics has provided testimony on punitive damages, executive compensation, rates of return, and mitigation. These reports have covered a broad range of industries; including insurance, professional services, newspapers, pharmaceuticals, financial services, and music databases. In particular, these projects include:

  • Damages associated with tax shelters;
  • The economic split of cable revenue rights across broadcasting channels;
  • Damages associated with a retailer destroyed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks; and
  • Antitrust damages associated with a music database.
